Droppers are used to cover the mismatch in the frieze when it meets in the middle of the run.
when installing corners & frieze you always put the corners in first. A full piece of frieze next to corner working towards the middle of the run.
In the middle where the frieze meet it must be cut. 99.99 % of the time, the frieze designs will not line up. the dropper’s job is to cover up this mismatch / misalignment.
