About Us

100% Australian-Owned Family Business

Established in 1927 it is now one of the larger non-ferrous foundries in NSW. Over the years we have continued to upgrade our equipment and technology making us the preferred supplier for many different industries.

We produce many types of products for the Industrial, Commercial and Domestic Markets. This range is highly diverse and includes castings such as, mining, engineering and architectural fittings, street and urban furniture, marine application including large Yacht Keels, industrial pumps, plastic forming tools, decorative aluminium lacework (cast iron panels), die casting and complex sculptures all in Non Ferrous metals.

The most common question that we get asked here at Central is, “What is a foundry?”

In this day of modern technology the term “foundry” seems to have been lost among the generations. But if you were to take most manufactured consumer products and take them right back to the start of the production process you would find that a foundry has been involved in some stage of the process.

Think about the machines used to make products! Where do the parts come from to make those machines?

So, just what is a foundry? A foundry is a place where castings are made from molten metal according what the customer wants. Central Foundry make their castings from a mould made from sand using a pattern supplied by the customer.

Foundries fall under either ferrous (iron or steel) or non-ferrous (aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, etc.) Central Foundry is a Non-Ferrous Foundry and we have years of experience casting with these types of metal. Our staff are on hand to answer any technical questions you may have relating to the type of non-ferrous metal you wish to use.

The Boyle Family tradition began as early as 1913 when brothers Herb and Albert Boyle started Parker Foundry in the Sydney area.

Since then 4 generations of Boyle’s have kept up the foundry tradition and today Central Foundry is run by Kevin Boyle and his three sons, John, Justin and Mark who all have extensive knowledge of the foundry industry.

Over the years the company has evolved into one of the leading manufacturers of non-ferrous castings due to the upgrading of equipment and the introduction of die casting in 2007.

We have also acquired a few foundries along the way due to the owners retiring. In 2011 we purchased Zedlina foundry and were fortunate to retain most of the staff and more recently we have acquired part of Wellington Foundry.

These acquisitions have increased the size of our customer base and allowed us to branch out into different areas.

This is perhaps the secret of our success. Our diversity has seen us stay ahead of cheap Chinese imports and our customers know that our quality is second to none.

In addition to company and equipment acquisitions we have also turned a little bit “Green” in recent years. In 2011 we installed a sand reclamation machine and in 2013 we became the proud owners of a 52KW solar system which now provides around 60% of our energy requirements.
