Central Foundry is a privately and 100% Australian owned family business. Established in 1927 it is now one of the larger non-ferrous foundries in NSW due to the continual upgrading of equipment and technology.

We produce a vast range of products for the Industrial, Commercial and Domestic Markets. Our product range is highly diverse making castings for light and heavy Engineering, Mining, and Architectural fittings, Street and Urban Furniture, Marine application including large Yacht Keels, Industrial Pumps, Plastic forming tools, Decorative Aluminium Lace (Balcony) Balustrading, Die Casting and complex Sculptures all in Non Ferrous metals.

The scope of work carried out is considerable and covers all facets of casting, from small simple castings to larger or complex engineering castings, and in all grades of non-ferous materials, Bronzes, Aluminum, Copper, Lead, Gunmetal, Brass.

Central Foundry does not use scrap material. Only certified ingot is used in all melts and certificates are always available on request.

Facilities include Die Casting, Pattern making, jobbing or repetition sand moulding, electric induction melting as well as natural gas fired furnaces.

Other services including Heat Treating, Powder Coating, Polishing, Vibro Polishing and Machining are carried out on a subcontract basis through a close network of high quality reputable suppliers.

What is a foundry?

It is amazing how many times we get asked this question. A foundry is a factory which produces metal castings from either ferrous (iron and steel) or non-ferrous (aluminium, lead, copper, brass, bronze etc) alloys.

Castings are produced by melting the metal into its liquid form then pouring the metal into a sand mould or steel die.

We here at Central Foundry are a non-ferrous foundry and have been producing high quality castings for almost 100 years. We are a family owned and run business and have been operating in the Mascot area since 1927.

We produce high quality balustrading and lacework but this only represents a small percentage of what we manufacture. Other areas we specialize in include:
